Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge Debuts as Brand’s Slimmest Flagship Yet, Powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite

Samsung has officially launched the Galaxy S25 Edge, its thinnest flagship smartphone to date, boasting a sleek 5.85mm profile and the cutting-edge Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. The device, teased earlier this year at the Galaxy Unpacked Event, now enters the market as a direct rival to the upcoming iPhone 17 Air.

Galaxy S25 Edge: Ultra-Slim Design Meets Flagship Performance

The Galaxy S25 Edge redefines smartphone aesthetics with a thickness of just 5.85mm and a weight of 163 grams. This makes it thinner than the standard Galaxy S25 (7.2mm) and the iPhone 16 (7.8mm) — positioning Samsung at the forefront of the slim-phone trend.

Despite its ultra-slim form factor, the device maintains a premium 6.7-inch Quad HD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, featuring 120Hz refresh rate and protected by Corning’s new Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2.

Snapdragon 8 Elite and Pro-Grade Camera Setup

Under the hood, the Galaxy S25 Edge is powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, ensuring top-tier performance across multitasking, gaming, and AI-enhanced tasks. It runs Samsung’s latest One UI version atop Android 15.

In the camera department, the S25 Edge carries a 200MP main sensor with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and 2x optical zoom, paired with a 12MP ultra-wide lens. A 12MP front camera handles selfies and video calling.

Battery and Charging: Slim Build Brings Compromise

To achieve its slim profile, the Galaxy S25 Edge houses a 3,900mAh battery, which is notably smaller than the 4,700mAh battery on the Galaxy S25. Charging remains capped at 25W wired fast charging, offering standard refueling speeds without wireless charging enhancements.

While the battery capacity may raise concerns for power users, Samsung is banking on software optimization and the energy efficiency of the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip to deliver all-day performance.
