Salman Khan firing case : Accused dies in hospital after suicide attempt in police custody

Mumbai: Anuj Tappan, accused of supplying the firearm used in the shootout outside Salman Khan’s house on April 14, was taken into police custody at a Mumbai police station on Wednesday.

He was found in a critical condition in a lounge room and taken to St. George Hospital for emergency treatment, where he died during treatment, officials confirmed.

Tappan was arrested by Mumbai police on April 25 along with Sonu Subhash Chander from Punjab.

In the early hours of April 14, two men on a motorcycle opened fire outside Salman’s Galaxy apartment. Later, the crime branch arrested the two accused shooters Vikas Kumar Gupta and Sagar Kumar Pal, residents of Gujarat.

Police said the gunmen had been practicing shooting in Bihar.
