Mumbai, February 17: Veteran screenwriter Salim Khan, father of Bollywood actor Salman Khan, is currently hospitalized due to health issues. He was admitted to Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai on Tuesday and has since been moved to the ICU. Dr. Jaleel Parker, who is overseeing his case, provided an update on his condition.
Dr. Parker confirmed, “Yes, it is true that Salim Khan, an icon in his own right, was admitted to the ICU at Lilavati Hospital at 8:30 AM. He was brought in by family doctor Sandeep Chopra. Immediate treatment was initiated, and he was later shifted to the ICU.”
He further mentioned, “A team of doctors is treating him, including neurologist Dr. Vinay Chavan, cardiologist Dr. Ajit Menon, neurosurgeon Dr. Nitin Dange, and Dr. Bineet Ahluwalia. In respect of the family’s request, no further information will be shared at this time. However, a health bulletin will be released on Wednesday at 11 AM, ensuring complete confidentiality while respecting the patient’s privacy. Currently, his condition is stable, but he remains under intensive monitoring.”
Reports indicate that Salim Khan was experiencing swelling in his body, prompting doctors to keep him under observation. Family members rushed to the hospital upon hearing about his deteriorating health. His son Salman Khan and daughter Alvira Khan were seen at the hospital.
Earlier, Salim Khan’s elder son, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, along with daughters Alvira Khan Agnihotri and Arpita Khan, and actor Aayush Sharma, visited him. Salman left his shoot in Madh Island to be with his father.
