Robbers target Haryana Cop’s house in Rajsamand

‘Jewellery-cash worth 10 lakhs stolen’

Udaipur : Let alone the general public, even families of police officers are not safe in Rajsamand district. Thieves decamped with Rs 60 thousand in cash and gold-silver jewellery worth 9 lakh from the house of a SP rank officer in Indra colony under Bhim police station area of the district on sunday night. The family members had gone for a marriage reception to a nearby garden and had been hardly an hour away when the thieves targeted their home and decamped with the loot.

According to sources, the house is of Dr Nandkishore Mewara, a Superintendent of Police in Haryana cadre. His father Ambalal is a government school principal while mother Pusha is an active worker of the BJP. The family had gone to attend a wedding function organised some few kilometers from their home in Indira colony of PeepliNagar.Finding anopportunity, burglars breakthrough the house and took away 24 tola gold ornaments worth 7.80 Lakh, 4 kilogram silver jewellery and cash rs sixty thousand.
