Udaipur : In perhaps one of the biggest incident of highway loot in Udaipur, bandits held travellers at gunpoint and took away 470 kilogram silver and 1.5 kg gold near Tidi on the Ahmedabad-Udaipur highway on Friday morning. The victims were commission agents who transported ornaments from Gujarat for jewelers in Agra. They had been in this business for 13 years and made four to five trips between Rajkot and Agra in a month for pick up and delivery, police said. The police suspect the robbers had kept a watch over these men for some time and knew that they carried large amount of jewelry.
