Apple is preparing to release foldable devices soon. According to 9to5Mac, the Cupertino-based company is accelerating foldable device development and could launch a foldable iPhone as early as 2026.
The report quoted Haitong International Securities analyst Jeff Po as saying that there is “increasing awareness” of Apple’s foldable devices, according to supply chain research. Apple could reportedly begin mass production of the 20.3-inch foldable device in the second half of 2025.
It’s not the first time reports about Apple’s foldable device have surfaced online. Apple supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo previously reported that the tech giant is working on a 20.3-inch foldable MacBook that is expected to launch by 2027.

Bloomberg’s Mark Garman also suggested that Apple “could consider a dual-screen foldable MacBook/iPad hybrid.” Ross Young, managing director and analyst at Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC), also reported a 20-inch foldable hybrid device that could hit the market in 2026 or 2027.
Apple’s foldable device is aimed at a niche market
In the latest report, Pu said that Apple’s foldable products will launch as a “new Apple screen” aimed at the “ultra-luxury market.” Apple is reportedly considering two screen sizes for the foldable iPhone: 7.9 inches and 8.3 inches.
Meanwhile, Apple will hold its highly anticipated “Let Loose” event on May 7, where it will unveil a variety of new iPads and accessories. The event will be broadcast live on the Apple website and Apple TV app at 10 a.m. local time.
The new iPad Pro models will probably be the star of this exhibition. According to rumors, it will be the first device to have an OLED display. Compared to the Liquid Retina XDR Mini LED display, this upgrade offers users a clearer and more immersive viewing experience. The new iPad Pro will be available in the familiar sizes 11 and 12.9 inches.
