🔋 Project Overview: India’s Largest Solar + BESS Win

Reliance NU Energies secured an allocation of:

  • 350 MW of Solar PV capacity

  • 175 MW / 700 MWh of battery energy storage

This was the largest allocation in SJVN’s 1,200 MW solar + 600 MW / 2,400 MWh BESS Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) connected tender. The competitive tariff of ₹3.33/kWh is fixed for 25 years, making it one of the lowest in the industry for dispatchable renewable energy.

The project will add:

  • 600 MWp of installed solar capacity

  • 700 MWh of BESS capacity
to Reliance Power’s expanding green energy portfolio.

🌱 Reliance Power’s Clean Energy Expansion

With this win, Reliance Power’s clean energy pipeline now stands at:

  • 2.5 GWp of solar capacity

  • >2.5 GWh of BESS capacity

This cements its position as India’s largest integrated Solar + BESS player, and is in line with the company’s strategy to lead the country’s energy transition.

🏗️ Tender Details and Industry Impact

  • The ISTS-connected tender was floated by SJVN, a Navratna PSU, and attracted 19 participants, with 18 qualifying for the reverse auction.

  • The bid was oversubscribed by over 4 times, indicating strong industry appetite for hybrid renewable projects that ensure dispatchable, grid-stable power.

The Letter of Award (LoA) is currently awaited, post which the project development timeline will begin.
