Mumbai, October 25 (Udaipur Kiran): Actress Rashmika Mandanna’s latest horror-comedy film ‘Thamma’ is enjoying a strong run at the box office and has received positive audience feedback. Recently, Rashmika’s family watched the film, and their emotional reaction has deeply touched the actress.
Sharing her family’s response, Rashmika revealed that her parents declared ‘Thamma’ as her best performance to date, while her younger sister absolutely loved the film. The actress said the family’s praise gave her a deep sense of satisfaction and relief.
Speaking about it, Rashmika said, “My family watched the film, and after seeing it, they told me this is the best film they’ve ever seen me in. My parents loved it, and my sister was thrilled. She had so many questions that I think I’ll have to introduce her to Amar sir (producer Amar Kaushik) and Aditya sir (director Aditya Sarpotdar) to answer them! She enjoyed it thoroughly, and that gives me immense peace.”
So far, ‘Thamma’ has earned ₹76 crore at the domestic box office and is rapidly approaching the ₹100 crore worldwide collection mark.
The film stars Rashmika Mandanna and Ayushmann Khurrana together for the first time, while Nawazuddin Siddiqui plays the antagonist. Set in a fictional world inspired by folklore, ‘Thamma’ also features a cameo by Varun Dhawan, who reprises his role from ‘Bhediya’.
Produced under the Maddock Films banner, ‘Thamma’ is the fifth installment in the studio’s Horror Universe, following ‘Stree’, ‘Stree 2’, ‘Bhediya’, and ‘Munjya’ — all of which have been commercial successes.
Recently, Rashmika also shared behind-the-scenes photos from the film’s shoot on Instagram, showing moments of her getting ready and shooting intense night sequences.
Up next, Rashmika will be seen in ‘The Girlfriend’, a Telugu romantic drama directed by Rahul Ravindran and co-starring Dikshith Shetty. The film is set to release on November 7 in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam.
