Rajasthan Weather Update: Temperatures Soar Past 40°C in Three Cities, Nine Others Cross 39°C Mark

March 25, 2025 | Jaipur: The scorching heat has started making its mark across Rajasthan. Daytime temperatures have surged dramatically, with three cities recording over 40°C and nine others surpassing 39°C. Except for Mount Abu, day temperatures across the state are now above 35°C, while nighttime temperatures in eight cities have climbed past 20°C.

Barmer recorded the highest temperature of the day at 40.2°C, while Phalodi experienced the warmest night with a minimum temperature of 25.6°C.

Cities Sizzle Under Rising Heat

According to the Meteorological Department, Barmer, Pilani, and Chittorgarh crossed the 40°C mark during the day. Other cities where daytime temperatures crossed 39°C include:

• Bikaner

• Churu

• Dholpur

• Baran

• Dungarpur

• Jalore

• Sirohi

• Fatehpur

• Dausa

At night, the temperature remained above 20°C in several regions including Phalodi, Jaipur, Sikar, Barmer, Pali, Jaisalmer, Bikaner, and Dungarpur, indicating rising minimum temperatures along with daytime heat.

Western Disturbance May Bring Temporary Relief

Radhey Shyam Sharma, Director of the Meteorological Center, stated that most regions are witnessing maximum temperatures that are 3 to 5 degrees above normal. Barmer, Jodhpur, and nearby districts reported heatwave-like conditions on Tuesday.

A western disturbance is expected to activate over Rajasthan on March 26–27, which could bring:

• Cloud cover

• Strong surface winds at 20–30 km/h

• A dip in temperatures by 2 to 4 degrees from March 26 to 28

Despite this, the weather is expected to remain dry across most of Rajasthan in the coming days.

Jaipur Heats Up

Jaipur is also experiencing a sharp rise in temperatures. On Tuesday:

• Day temperature: 38°C

• Night temperature: 21.2°C

• Increase: 1.1°C (day), 1.8°C (night)

With temperatures on the rise, Jaipur is expected to see further spikes in both daytime and nighttime readings in the coming days.
