JAIPUR, April 1, 2025 — Rajasthan continues to witness sharp temperature fluctuations, with cool mornings and evenings contrasted by intensifying daytime heat. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a weak western disturbance is expected to affect parts of the state on April 2 and 3, bringing cloudy skies and light rain to some areas.

Temperature Trends Across the State

In the past 24 hours, clear skies and strong sunlight prevailed in most parts of Rajasthan. Several districts recorded rising maximum temperatures, particularly in the western regions.

Key Observations on March 31:

• Barmer: Highest at 39.4°C, 2°C above normal

• Jalore, Dungarpur, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Kota: Between 37°C to 39°C

• Ajmer: 35.8°C

• Alwar: 35.0°C

• Udaipur: 35.3°C

• Jaipur (Capital):

  • Max: 35.8°C

  • Min: 17.6°C

Night temperatures dropped significantly in areas like Sikar and Mount Abu, where the lowest minimum temperature touched 10°C, maintaining a mild chill during the early morning and late evening.

Districts Experiencing Early Morning Coolness

• Churu, Sriganganagar, Udaipur, Chittorgarh, Sikar, Pilani, Alwar, Bhilwara, Pali, Jhunjhunu, Mount Abu, Sirohi, Hanumangarh, Baran

These areas recorded minimum temperatures below 15°C, creating mild winter-like conditions during mornings and nights.

Rain Forecast for April 3

Despite the weakened western disturbance, light rain or drizzle is likely in 11 districts on April 3. While temperatures may rise slightly due to increased westerly winds on April 2, cloud cover and scattered rainfall on April 3 will bring temporary relief from the heat.

• Parts of Eastern Rajasthan, including:
