Jaipur, July 9: Rajasthan’s Jhalawar police have made a significant breakthrough in the fight against illegal drug trafficking, seizing narcotics valued at ₹50 lakh. The police apprehended three traffickers while they were transporting large quantities of smack and charas.
According to Superintendent of Police Amit Kumar, a special police team led by Station House Officer Mukesh Meena conducted a blockade on NH 52 near Devari Ghata and successfully arrested the suspects.
The two primary accused have been identified as Naresh Gurjar and Mor Singh Gurjar, who were caught with approximately 250 grams of illegal smack. The seized narcotics are estimated to be worth around ₹50 lakh in the international market.
In a separate operation, police arrested a drug trafficker named Shah Rukh on Idgah Road, recovering nearly 86 grams of charas. The police have registered cases against the suspects under the NDPS Act and are investigating their drug trafficking network.
This incident follows another significant drug bust in Punjab, where police dismantled a drug trafficking network in Amritsar, arresting three individuals and seizing 25 kilograms of heroin. Initial investigations revealed that the arrested suspects were operating under the instructions of a trafficker based across the border.
