Rajasthan Government Committed to Women’s Safety; Urges Download of RajCop Citizen App on International Women’s Day
Jaipur, March 7: On the eve of International Women’s Day, the Rajasthan government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, has reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to ensuring women’s safety across the state. The Rajasthan Police have made a special appeal urging every woman and girl to download the RajCop Citizen App, a state-developed mobile application designed to provide swift and reliable police assistance during emergency situations.

Over 18 Lakh Downloads Reflecting Popularity
Director General of Police (DGP) Utkal Ranjan Sahu stated that the RajCop Citizen App, particularly its newly introduced “Need Help” feature launched by Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma on December 14, 2024, has become increasingly popular among Rajasthan’s citizens. Over 18.3 lakh people have already downloaded this app, with 1,87,040 new users since the launch of the “Need Help” feature.
Chief Minister’s Sensitive Initiatives Towards Women’s Safety
Highlighting the state government’s proactive approach, DGP Sahu emphasized several vital steps initiated by Chief Minister Sharma to protect women’s dignity and security. Alongside making stringent legal provisions against crimes targeting women, the state government has established fast-track courts for speedy trials. Other major steps include setting up 24-hour women’s helpline services, deploying extensive night patrols, installing CCTV cameras in public places, and establishing dedicated women’s police stations.
“Need Help” Feature: A Lifeline for Women
Hemant Priyadarshi, Director General of Cyber Crime, SCRB & Technical Services, described the “Need Help” feature of the RajCop Citizen App as a boon for women facing emergency and non-emergency situations. The feature ensures timely police intervention within minutes of sending a distress signal. Priyadarshi confirmed that out of 13,638 requests received via the app to date, the majority have been successfully addressed and resolved.
“App Hai To Safe Hai”: Rajasthan Police’s Unique Initiative
Inspector General (Cyber Crime & SCRB) Sharat Kaviraj elaborated that Rajasthan Police teams have been actively conducting awareness campaigns in colleges, schools, and coaching institutions to promote the app among girls and women. A catchy and empowering tagline, “App Hai To Safe Hai” (If there’s an App, you’re safe), created by ASI Sunita Sharma of Rajasthan Police’s Central Control Room, has been prominently used to enhance awareness and encourage widespread adoption.
