Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari, Visits Nand Ghar in Jaipur, Commends its Holistic Development Model

  • Vedanta is committed to develop 25,000 Nand Ghars across the state of Rajasthan

Jaipur, Rajasthan: Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Smt. Diya Kumari visited the Nand Ghar in Vidyadhar Nagar, Jaipur, to witness the transformative impact of Vedanta’s flagship social impact initiative led by the Anil Agarwal Foundation. The project is renovating traditional anganwadis into modern, child-friendly centers equipped with smart learning tools, BaLA (Building as Learning Aid) designs, LED TVs, and engaging infrastructure to foster holistic development for children aged 3–6 years. The visit reaffirmed the government’s shared vision with Nand Ghar to create a malnutrition-free and empowered India, especially through the development of women and children at the grassroots level.

During her visit, she observed interactive classrooms equipped with smart TVs, e-learning modules, and BaLA installations that have made early childhood education more engaging and effective. She also met anganwadi didis and participated in meaningful conversations with local women, gaining insights into how skill development and livelihood programs, ranging from handicraft to food processing are enhancing family incomes and self – reliance. In Rajasthan alone, Vedanta has signed an MoU to develop 25,000 Nand Ghars, accelerating the state’s mission to improve early childhood outcomes and uplift rural women.

Nand Ghar, operational across 15 states in India, with over 8,500 centres, is a modernized anganwadi model working in convergence with the government to strengthen the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS). As part of this effort, it has also launched the Balvardhan Project in Dholpur, Rajasthan—a scientific and scalable model for improving child development outcomes in partnership with reputed expert organisations like John Snow Inc. (JSI) and Rocket Learning. This initiative focuses on data-driven impact, capacity building, and innovative digital learning to create a replicable framework for national implementation.

This special visit by Hon’ble Minister emphasized our shared commitment with the Rajasthan government to create a malnutrition-free, empowered India, especially through grassroots development focused on women and children, ensuring inclusive, holistic development in line with national goals such as POSHAN 2.0, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
