Udaipur, May 28 (Udaipur Kiran) – Amid the ongoing intense heatwave, there is relief in sight as rain and strong winds are likely to affect several parts of Rajasthan, including the Udaipur division, over the coming days.
According to the weather forecast issued on Wednesday, thunderstorm and rain activities are likely to begin in some parts of the state from May 28 due to the impact of a western disturbance. Weather activity is expected to intensify further from May 30, while thunderstorms and rain are also likely to continue in some areas during the first week of June.
The strongest impact of the new western disturbance is expected between May 29 and May 31. During this period, parts of Udaipur, Jaipur, Bharatpur, Kota, Ajmer, Jodhpur and Bikaner divisions may witness strong dust storms, gusty winds with speeds of 60 to 70 kmph, and rainfall at isolated places.
Due to the effect of rain and storm activity, temperatures are expected to drop by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius from May 29 onwards. Relief from heatwave conditions is also likely from May 29-30.
Meanwhile, heatwave and warm night conditions are expected to continue across the state for the next two to three days. Maximum temperatures in most areas may remain between 44 and 46 degrees Celsius. Some places in Bikaner, Kota division and the Shekhawati region may record temperatures between 46 and 47 degrees Celsius.
In the border areas of western Rajasthan, temperatures may touch around 48 degrees Celsius on May 27 and 28.
