Mumbai, September 9 (Kiran News) — Shares of Railtel Corporation of India surged over 5 percent on Tuesday after the company announced it has received multiple Letters of Acceptance (LoAs) from the Bihar Education Project Council (BEPC).

The LoAs include:

A contract worth around ₹89.91 crore for the supply of teaching and learning material for Classes I to V in government schools, to be completed by March 31, 2026.

A contract worth approximately ₹257.50 crore for the procurement, supply, and installation of smart classrooms in government secondary and senior secondary schools, with the same execution timeline of March 31, 2026.

An additional work order worth ₹59.77 crore for the supply, installation, testing, and commissioning (SITC) of ISM Labs, to be completed by December 31, 2025.
On the BSE, Railtel was trading at ₹363.90, up by ₹18.10 or 5.23 percent from its previous close of ₹345.80. The stock opened at ₹359.95 and touched an intraday high of ₹367.50 and a low of ₹355.65. A total of 5,43,415 shares changed hands during the day.
The PSU stock, part of the BSE ‘A’ group with a face value of ₹10, has a 52-week high of ₹486.55 (September 13, 2024) and a 52-week low of ₹265.30 (March 3, 2025). In the past week, it traded between ₹341.10 and ₹367.50.
Railtel’s current market capitalization stands at ₹11,746.35 crore. The Government of India holds a majority 72.84 percent stake in the company, while institutions and non-institutional investors hold 4.46 percent and 22.70 percent, respectively.
