Udaipur, February 15, 2026 (Udaipur Kiran) — The general body meeting of Green Peepal Society, an organisation active in environmental protection and public awareness in southern Rajasthan, unanimously constituted its new executive committee. Retired Chief Conservator of Forests Rahul Bhatnagar has been re-elected as President.

The election process was conducted peacefully under the supervision of retired O.P. Sharma. As per the organisation’s constitution, the executive committee is restructured every two years. In line with this provision, a new team was selected for the upcoming term. Since the Trust registration dated April 8, 2024 is nearing completion of its tenure, it was decided to hold elections for both the Society and the Trust simultaneously.
Work Plan for 2026–27
During the meeting, it was resolved that in the coming year, programmes related to environmental conservation, biodiversity promotion, plantation drives and public awareness will continue in collaboration with the Forest Department, various social organisations and the World Wide Fund for Nature.
Members expressed gratitude to Vikram Singh Chauhan for his cooperation in the successful organisation of the Jaipur Bird Fair. A detailed discussion was also held regarding the proposed tripartite MoU between Piplantri Panchayat, Green Peepal Society and Terra Blue Company, along with a carbon crediting initiative.
