PSG Advances to Champions League Final with Dembélés Goal

Munich, May 7: Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has reached the final of the Champions League, thanks to a decisive goal from Ousmane Dembélé. The defending champions drew 1-1 against FC Bayern in the second leg of the semi-finals at Munich’s Allianz Arena, securing a 6-5 victory on aggregate.

Luis Enrique’s team, which won the Champions League title last season with an aggressive performance against Inter, started strong, taking the lead just two minutes into the match with a goal from Dembélé, who converted a precise pass from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

The home team attempted to make a comeback, but Bayern Munich’s goalkeeper Manuel Neuer made several outstanding saves, including denying a header from João Neves.

Bayern showcased good play towards the end of the first half, with Jamal Musiala’s powerful shot being stopped by PSG’s goalkeeper Matvei Safonov. Musiala’s subsequent shot went slightly over the bar.

In the second half, Paris continued to press, with Neuer again making excellent saves from shots by Désiré Dou and Kvaratskhelia.

Both teams had multiple opportunities, with Neuer denying Dou again, while Safonov kept his team in the game by stopping shots from Luis Díaz and Michael Olise.

Towards the end of the match, Harry Kane scored a powerful shot after a brilliant move, sparking hopes for a Bayern comeback. However, the visiting team held on to their lead until the final whistle.

PSG boss Enrique expressed his satisfaction, stating, “The character we showed against a team like Bayern is very positive. We are very happy to reach the Champions League final for the second consecutive time. It was intense and very difficult. They play football at the highest level. Both teams are similar; we like to apply pressure. We are very happy.”
