New Delhi, June 6: Prince Yadav, who impressed with his bowling while playing for Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2026, has been rewarded with a spot in the Indian team for the upcoming T20 series against Ireland and England, as well as the Asian Games. His exceptional performance in the IPL has earned him this opportunity after being selected for the ODI series against Afghanistan.
Yadav was the most successful bowler for LSG in the IPL, taking 16 wickets in 14 matches. Although his wicket tally may seem modest, he was notably economical and managed to trouble some of the world’s top batsmen throughout the season.
One of Yadav’s greatest strengths is his bowling variety. He possesses the ability to deliver bouncers, yorkers, and both in-swing and out-swing deliveries, adapting to match situations effectively. This versatility has contributed to his success in the league and now his inclusion in the national team.
Playing domestic cricket for Delhi, this right-arm fast bowler’s performance in international cricket will be closely monitored. He could prove to be highly effective in the conditions of Ireland and England. If Yadav can replicate his IPL and domestic success, he may strengthen the Indian pace attack and ease the burden on Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj.
In an interview during the IPL, Yadav expressed his dream of playing in the 2027 ODI World Cup and winning it alongside Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. He appears to be steadily moving closer to realizing that dream.
To date, Yadav has taken 29 wickets in 14 List A matches and 38 wickets in 35 T20 matches.
