Google is expected to unveil the Pixel 8a, the affordable version of the Pixel 8 series, at Google I/O 2024. Ahead of the event, there have been rumors about an unannounced Pixel budget smartphone, and the latest leak reveals the smartphone’s price.
According to a report by PassionateGeekz, a Canadian retailer has put the Pixel 8a smartphone up for sale ahead of its official launch. According to retailer listings, the Pixel 8a will be available in two variants with 128GB of internal storage and 256GB of storage. As per the listing, the base 128GB version costs CAD 708.99 (approximately Rs. 42,500) and the 256GB variant costs CAD 792.99 (approximately Rs. 47,500).
However, this is not the exact price of the Pixel 8a that will be available in India. However, it does give us a hint about the likely price of the upcoming Pixel budget smartphone.
Pixel 8a: expected specifications
According to recent leaks and rumors, the Google Pixel 8a is expected to use the Tensor G3 chip, the same chip that powers the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro.
Additionally, the phone is expected to feature a 6.1-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The phone is also speculated to have a 64-megapixel primary camera and a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle secondary sensor. The Pixel 8a is also speculated to have an IP rating for water and dust resistance as well as wireless charging support.
The Pixel 8a has Bluetooth, 5G and 4G LTE connectivity options, as well as some AI-based features.
