President Murmu Visits Army Training Command Headquarters

New Delhi, May 1: President of India, Droupadi Murmu, visited the Army Training Command headquarters in Shimla on Friday. This facility is crucial for developing modern training programs for Indian Army personnel.

Upon her arrival, she was welcomed by Himachal Pradesh Governor, Kavan Gupta, and senior army officials, including Lieutenant General Devendra Sharma. The President was briefed on the operational aspects of the command and its role in strengthening the army.

Officials highlighted the necessity for the army to adopt not just traditional training methods but also new technologies. Training in operating drones and unmanned aerial vehicles is currently being provided, along with an emphasis on integrating innovative techniques into military operations. The concept of “Red Teaming” is also being implemented, which involves thinking like the enemy to identify vulnerabilities.

Additionally, efforts are underway to enhance the army’s efficiency through digitization and automation. The President noted that the command not only provides training but also assists in developing war strategies, preparing resources, and fostering cooperation with foreign armies. Across the country, 32 major training institutions are operational, dedicated to making army personnel skilled and professional.

During her visit, President Murmu engaged in discussions with army officials to explore ways to further improve training, ensuring the nation’s security. She commended all officers, soldiers, and staff at the Army Training Command for their dedication and hard work, urging them to continue their efforts to keep the Indian Army prepared and strong. This initiative is a significant step towards military pride, self-reliance, and a developed India. The Army Training Command strengthens professional capabilities within the Indian Army, providing a unique understanding of both the art and science of warfare.
