PM Modi shares his thoughts in ‘Mann Ki Baat’

In his monthly address of ‘Mann Ki Baat’, PM Modi cited life stories of a number of people who have showed exemplary courage and determination to do good for the society and instill a sense of pride. PM lauded all-women crew of Indian Navy who successfully circumnavigated the globe aboard INSV Tarini for their courage. 

PM also praised a number of people from India who have scaled the mightyMount Everest and made the country proud. Prime Minister made a special reference to some poor girls from slums of Sikar in Rajasthan. He said these girls, who used to work as rag-pickers, have learned stitching and have now become self-reliant. 

Prime Minister cited example of D Prakash rao from Cuttack in Odisha who, through his hard work and determination, has changed lives of so many children. A tea-seller, Rao, has been bearing the expense of education of 70 children.

PM Modi also remembered social reformer and poet Veer Savarkar for his valour and knowledge. He said, Savarkar ji always emphasized on harmony and unity and had both, poetic and revolutionary instincts.

The Prime Minister also re-iterated his call on Fit India campaign, which has got an overwhelming response on Social Media.

The Prime Minister said that India’s  inherent unity in diversity is manifested in its traditional sports. He added that while sports does not merely teach us to play, it also imparts values and also also teach us how to achieve goals. 

Prime Minister Modi recalled his childhood days, in Gujarat, when he used to play Chomal Isto. He also mentioned games like gilli danda & Kite flying. PM Modi has urged schools, localities and youth organizations to come forward to promote the traditionally sports for overall personality development.

India will host World Environment Day celebrations this year.. .the Prime Minister in his Mann Ki Baat programme termed it a significant achievement for the country. He also appealed people to follow this year’s theme… ‘Beat Plastic Pollution’.

The Prime minister also mentioned International Yoga day in his mann ki Baat programme. He has appealed to the citizens to take forward our heritage of Yoga. 

The Prime Minister also recalled Veer Savarkar’s contribution during India’s freedom struggle in 1857. He also remembered how former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee once described Veer Sawarkar’s Persona.

The Prime Minister also extended greeting and best wishes for Eid festival to be celebrated after the culmination of holy month of Ramzan.
