Udaipur, September 25 (Patrika English News): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday flagged off the new Udaipur–Chandigarh train service virtually during a programme held in Banswara. A district-level event was also organised at Udaipur City Railway Station to mark the occasion.

The new service will operate twice a week, with regular operations commencing from September 27, 2025. Railway officials said the train will significantly improve connectivity for passengers from the Mewar region to several cities in northern India.

At the Udaipur City station, the event was attended by local MLAs including Tarachand Jain (Udaipur City), Phoolsingh Meena (Udaipur Rural), and Pratap Bheel (Gogunda), along with social worker Ravindra Shrimali, public representatives, officials, and residents.
