Bengaluru, May 10: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the 45th anniversary celebration of the Art of Living International Center in Bengaluru on Sunday. He expressed that the morning brought a unique experience, welcoming the attendees with Vedic chants and the blessings of Lord Ganesha, marking the 70th birthday of Sri Sri Ravi Shankar.
PM Modi remarked, “These moments will always remain in my memories. Gurudev has rightly said that my gratitude cannot be expressed in words. I am here for you, because of you.” He inaugurated a divine and grand meditation temple, emphasizing that when intentions are clear and actions are driven by a spirit of service, every effort yields positive results.
He stated, “We are all under the umbrella of ‘Lotus,’ and with Gurudev’s blessings, it will lead the nation to new heights.” He highlighted Bengaluru’s unique atmosphere, known globally for software and services, while also elevating India’s cultural identity and spiritual consciousness.
The Prime Minister noted that people worldwide are influenced by India’s spiritual values, which have inspired many. He acknowledged that the Art of Living, founded by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar 45 years ago, has grown into a significant entity, akin to a vast banyan tree.
He emphasized the importance of societal strength in making any campaign successful, asserting that society is more powerful than politics and governments. “A government can only succeed when society actively participates in nation-building,” he added.
PM Modi praised the focus on youth power, stating that rapid changes are occurring in today’s world, with science opening new possibilities daily. He mentioned that India is not just participating in these changes but is also leading in various sectors.
He concluded by highlighting India’s digital revolution, which has positioned the country as a global leader in digital payments. The infrastructure is advancing at an unprecedented pace, and India has become the third-largest startup ecosystem in the world. “Our youth and the Art of Living are the biggest reasons behind these achievements,” he stated.
The Art of Living International Center, established by Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, is a prominent meditation and spiritual center spread over 250 acres, offering basic and advanced courses in yoga, meditation, and Sudarshan Kriya for a stress-free life.
