
The petrol pumps remained opened, however, congress supporters staged mass protest outside pumps and raised slogans against the soaring fuel prices which they claimed that has made life miserable for the common man. Though the bandh call was given for half-a-day from 8 to 2 pm, yet some observed the bandh for the whole day.
All prominent markets including Bapu Bazar, Ghantaghar, Ashwini Market, Delhi Gate, Surajpole, Udiapole, Hathipole, Maldas street, Sarafa market and grain mandis were closed till 2pm. The associates of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and other business organizations extended support to the bandh call and therefore all shops were shut.
