New Delhi, July 28: Congress MP Randeep Singh Surjewala has criticized the government’s approach to tackling paper leaks, stating that merely enacting laws will not stop these incidents. Speaking to the media on Tuesday, he highlighted that paper leaks are occurring almost daily across the country, with notable cases reported in Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Punjab.
Surjewala accused the paper leak mafia of jeopardizing students’ futures and questioned whether any law or committee could effectively address the issue. He stated, “The truth is that those in power are protecting the mafia. Whether in Gujarat, Punjab, or Maharashtra, students’ futures are being auctioned off. This fight is not about making laws or forming committees, but about severing ties with the powerful elites.”
He emphasized that the youth of the country stand with Rahul Gandhi and will ensure government accountability, asserting that the guardians of the paper leak mafia are seated in power.
Chandrashekhar, MP from Nagina, expressed the need for a discussion on the bill against paper leaks, while also condemning the violence faced by students on July 20. He demanded accountability from the government regarding the incident and called for the withdrawal of cases filed against students.
He noted that just as the government had to retreat previously, it would have to do so again.
Congress MP Tanuj Punia remarked on the government’s seriousness regarding the bill and whether it could be implemented effectively. He demanded an apology from the Union Home Minister for the brutality faced by students and called for strict action against the responsible officials, asserting that justice must be served to the youth of the nation.
