Islamabad, March 31 : Pakistan Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad on Thursday said the time till Saturday night 12 am is crucial and the political situation might change in the country. During an interview with Pakistan’s Geo News, Rasheed said, “The time till Saturday night 12 am is crucial.” He asked the nation to wait till Friday and Saturday night, as nothing has been finalised and the political situation might change. “According to the rules and regulations, the governor calls the chief minister to confirm his resignation, which gets accepted two to three days after the confirmation,” he said, while talking about Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar’s resignation. He said that today is the last day of the Chief Minister in office. The Punjab CM’s resignation, which he tendered before Prime Minister Imran Khan, has been received by the Punjab Governor and is expected to be accepted today, Geo News said in a report. Earlier, Buzdar had stepped down in favour of Pervaiz Elahi, Speaker of the Provincial Assembly of Punjab, as part of a deal with the Pakistan Muslim League (Q), to secure the party’s support for the Prime Minister against the no-trust motion, it added.
