Colombo, February 18: Pakistan secured a convincing victory over Namibia by 102 runs in the 35th match of the T20 World Cup 2026, earning a spot in the Super-8 stage. The Pakistani team will face New Zealand on February 21, followed by a match against England on February 24. They will conclude their Super-8 campaign with a clash against Sri Lanka.
Winning the toss and opting to bat at the Sinhalese Sports Club, Pakistan posted a formidable total of 199 runs for the loss of three wickets. Opening batsman Sahibzada Farhan played a stellar innings, scoring an unbeaten 100 runs off 58 balls, which included 4 sixes and 11 fours. He formed crucial partnerships, adding 40 runs for the first wicket with Saim Ayub and 67 runs for the second wicket with captain Salman Agha.
After losing their third wicket at a score of 118, Sahibzada partnered with Shadab Khan to build an unbroken fourth-wicket stand of 81 runs off just 40 balls, propelling the team to a massive total. Captain Agha contributed 38 runs, while Shadab added a quick 36 runs off 22 balls. For Namibia, Jack Brüssel was the standout bowler, claiming 2 wickets, while captain Gerhard Erasmus took 1 wicket.
In response, Namibia struggled to reach 97 runs, being bowled out in just 17.3 overs. Lauren Steenkamp top-scored for Namibia with 23 runs, and Alexander Wolshenk managed 20 runs, but no other batsman reached double figures.
