The successor to the Oppo Reno 11 series, the Oppo Reno 12 series, will launch later this month. The company has announced the launch date of the new product line in China. Oppo has confirmed that the range will include the Reno 12 and Reno 12 Pro. The company has also revealed the design of the back of the phones. In a Weibo post, Oppo confirmed that the Oppo Reno 12 series will launch in China on May 23 at 4:00 PM local time (1:30 PM IST). It is advertised as having a “silver” look, suggesting that the phones will be silver in color. The company also revealed the design of the back of the upcoming phones.
The Oppo Reno 12 is available in silver, while the Oppo Reno 12 Pro is available in purple. Both phones have a high-gloss, glossy finish, with elliptical rear camera modules in the upper left corner.
Oppo did not share any further information about the phones. However, another social media post claims that the Reno 12 series offers “unexpectedly innovative photography options.” Oppo also announced the Oppo Enco Air 4 Pro with 44 hours of battery life. The release schedule for the true wireless earphones has not been confirmed, but they could be released in parallel with the Reno 12 launch.
The base model of the Oppo Reno 12 will reportedly be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8250 SoC, while the Pro version will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ chipset. Both phones have a 50-megapixel triple camera on the back.
The Oppo Reno 12 Pro features a 6.7-inch 1.5K 120Hz display and a 5,000mAh battery that supports 80W fast wired charging. It has a 50-megapixel front camera sensor and a 50-megapixel main sensor at the back along with a 50-megapixel portrait sensor with 2x optical zoom.
Oppo Reno 11 5G and Oppo Reno 11 Pro 5G were launched in India in January this year. The Pro variant is priced at Rs 39,999 for the 12GB + 256GB variant, while the base price starts at Rs 29,999 for the 8GB + 128GB variant.
