Operation Chakravyuh: Pratapgarh Police Seize ₹40 Lakh Opium, Arrest Three Smugglers

Udaipur Kiran, Jaipur, December 27: Pratapgarh district police achieved a major breakthrough in their ongoing crackdown against drug trafficking under Operation Chakravyuh. The district special team along with Jaloda Jagir police station conducted a joint checkpoint that resulted in the seizure of over 262 kilograms of illegal opium doda choora, exposing a significant interstate smuggling network.

Following the directions of District Superintendent of Police B. Aditya, intensive roadblocks were set up on Gajpura Road. During this operation, a red motorcycle and an i20 car were spotted coming from the Badi-Gudakheda route. When the police signaled them to stop, the motorcycle rider attempted to flee but was quickly surrounded and apprehended by the vigilant officers. The pursuing car was also forced to stop after being encircled by the police.

Upon searching the car’s trunk, police found seven large black bundles. These bundles contained high-quality crushed illegal doda choora. The total weight of the seized opium was recorded at 262.320 kilograms. The estimated market value of this haul is approximately ₹40 lakh.

Three smugglers from Mandsaur were arrested at the scene. The accused have been identified as Farukh (25), son of Waheed Khan; Vikram (47), son of Anandi Lal; and Waheed (50), son of Samaroz Khan, all residents of Sanawada, Piplia Mandi police station, Mandsaur district. The i20 car used for transportation and the escorting motorcycle were also confiscated by the police.

The successful operation was led by Station Officer Pooraram and DST in-charge Pratap Singh. Key members of the DST team including constables Ramesh Chandra, Shivlal, Narendrasinh, and Omprakash played a significant role in this action. The police are currently interrogating the arrested suspects to trace the main roots of this illegal smuggling racket.
