Patna : Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday said that there was nothing unusual between JD(U) president Rajeev Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh and Union Minister RCP Singh. Kumar, to a query of media persons said that he had himself stepped down as JD(U) president after Bihar Assembly Elections held in 2020.
In national executive meeting held in Patna, he had offered to resign from the post of JD(U) which was accepted after some hesitations by those attending the meeting, he added. RCP Singh was made JD(U) president on his desire after he resigned, he stated. Chief Minister said that in the year 2021 when RCP Singh became Union Minister, he had expressed his willingness to relinquish the post of JD(U) in national executive committee meeting of the party held in New Delhi.
Lalan Singh was made president in the meeting who had announced for expansion of the party with all vigour and energy. ” Every party has the right to expand its mass base,” Kumar said adding that there was nothing new if JD(U) president Lalan Singh also talked about this goal of the party.
There was nothing unusual between Lalan Singh and RCP Singh as being projected in media, he pointed out. Some junior leaders might have made statements for publicity but it had no meaning, he further said adding that all was well in party and leaders were united.
Chief Minister while responding to a query regarding his meeting with noted poll strategist Prashant Kishor recently in New Delhi, said that no political meaning should be drawn. There had been his good relation with him since long, he said adding that Prashant had made call on several occasions to enquire about his health when he was tested positive for Corona virus in January.
Kumar to another query regarding inclusion of Bhojpuri in eighth schedule of the constitution, said education department would give details about it. His government had made efforts for the same earlier and it would be revived again, he remarked.
