No Rain Expected on Bhai Phota; South Bengal Weather to Change This Weekend

Kolkata, October 23 (Udaipur Kiran): After the withdrawal of the monsoon from West Bengal, the weather is expected to remain largely normal across the state. On Thursday, most parts of Bengal will experience clear skies. Light fog may appear in a few districts during the early morning hours, followed by slightly warm conditions during the day and pleasant weather in the evening.

South Bengal Weather

According to the Meteorological Department, the low-pressure area over the southwest Bay of Bengal has now moved northwest towards the Tamil Nadu coast near Puducherry. Therefore, it is unlikely to have any impact on West Bengal. There is no forecast of rain in any district of South Bengal on Thursday, and most areas will continue to experience dry weather.

However, a change in weather is expected from Friday. Light rainfall may occur in South 24 Parganas on Friday, followed by showers in North and South 24 Parganas and East Medinipur districts on Saturday. Scattered rain is also expected in Jhargram and nearby areas on Sunday and Monday.

In North Bengal, the weather will remain dry on Thursday, but rainfall is likely over the weekend. Due to the influence of a western disturbance, rainfall may begin in the hilly regions from Friday. Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar, and Cooch Behar districts could experience thunderstorms and rain from Saturday to Monday.

In Kolkata, Thursday’s weather will remain dry with a clear sky. The maximum temperature is expected to be around 34°C, while the minimum will hover near 25°C.
