Netherlands Announces Womens T20 World Cup Squad

Amsterdam, May 6: The Netherlands Cricket Board has announced a 15-member squad for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, with Babette de Leede appointed as captain. This will be her first major T20 tournament. The tournament is set to begin on June 12 in England and Wales, marking the Netherlands’ debut in this multinational event featuring 12 teams.

In a statement released by the Netherlands Cricket Board, Babette expressed excitement about their first appearance at the ICC T20 World Cup, stating, “This is a fantastic opportunity to compete against the world’s best teams and showcase Dutch talent on a big stage. As the T20 World Cup is being held close to home in England, we hope to see a large number of ‘Orange’ supporters cheering us on. This will be a memorable experience not just for our team, but for our families, friends, and all those who hold a special place for Dutch women’s cricket in their hearts.”

The Netherlands qualified for the Women’s T20 World Cup for the first time by winning all three matches in the ‘Super Six’ stage of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Global Qualifiers held in Nepal last year.

In the 2026 Women’s T20 World Cup, the Netherlands has been placed in Group A, where they will face Australia, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, and South Africa. The Dutch team will strive to secure a top-two position in the points table to reach the semifinals.

The team will kick off their campaign against Bangladesh on June 14 at Edgbaston, followed by matches against India on June 17 at Headingley and the reigning champions Australia on June 20 at the Utilita Bowl. They will conclude their group stage matches at the County Ground in Bristol, facing South Africa on June 25 and Pakistan on June 27.

Before the World Cup, the Dutch team will participate in a T20 tri-series in Scotland against Bangladesh and the host nation.

The Netherlands squad for the T20 World Cup includes: Babette de Leede (captain), Caroline de Lange, Frederique Overdijk, Hannah Landheer, Heather Siegers, Iris Zwilling, Isabel van der Woening, Lara Limhuis, Mirthe van den Raad, Phoebe Molkenboer, Robin Rijcke, Rosalie Lawrence, Sanya Khurana, Silver Siegers, and Sterre Kalis.
