Nepal Captain Rohit Paudel Warns Opponents After Thrilling T20 World Cup Match

Mumbai, 8 February: The T20 World Cup 2026 match held on Sunday at Mumbai’s Wankhede Cricket Stadium was highly exciting. The Nepal cricket team showcased an impressive performance that challenged England until the very last ball. Although England won the match by 4 wickets, thanks to Sam Curran’s smart bowling in the final over, Nepal proved that no team should take them lightly.

After the match, Nepal captain Rohit Paudel said, “The boys gave their all. I am very proud of them. The result didn’t go our way, but in terms of effort, we gave 100 percent in every department of the game. Sam Curran bowled very well in the last over. We will improve from here. As a team, we have to give our 100 percent.”

Rohit emphasized, “We have not come to this World Cup just to participate. We will not take any team lightly.”

Speaking about his country’s cricket fans, Rohit added, “They are very passionate. The entire Kathmandu and Nepal came here to support us. I believe all of Nepal will be proud of us.”

England captain Harry Brook also praised Nepal’s performance after the match. He said, “It was not easy at all, but thankfully we won. They played very well, and many teams don’t take Adil Rashid the way they did. I wish them the best for the rest of the competition.”

England, having won the toss and batting first, scored 184 runs for 7 wickets. Key contributions came from Jacob Bethell (55), Harry Brook (53), and Will Jacks (39 not out). Nepal managed 180 runs for 6 wickets in 20 overs, falling short by just 4 runs. Needing 10 runs in the final over, Nepal scored only 5, resulting in a narrow defeat.
