Narayan Seva Sansthan Fits Artificial Limb to Injured Cow in Rajasthan
Udaipur, October 23: Narayan Seva Sansthan has helped a cow walk again by fitting it with a modular artificial limb after it lost its front left leg in an accident. The initiative combines modern prosthetic technology with a commitment to caring for animals in need.
Specialised Team Assesses the Cow’s Condition
A few days ago, Sansthan president Prashant Agrawal learned that a cow in Ghodaghati village of Rajasthan’s Rajsamand district had lost its front left leg in an accident and was unable to walk.
Following this information, he directed the institution’s Prosthetics and Orthotics (P&O) department to form a specialist team and visit the location.
The team carefully assessed the cow’s physical condition, the affected limb and the feasibility of fitting an artificial leg. Measurements were taken to prepare a prosthesis suited to the cow’s body structure and requirements.
Modular Artificial Limb Prepared for the Cow
Dr Manas Ranjan Sahu, head of the institution’s P&O department, personally took charge of the technical work. The team prepared a specialised Narayan Artificial Limb, considering the cow’s measurements, material requirements, precise modelling, strength and proper fit.
After the artificial limb was ready, the technical team returned to Ghodaghati and fitted it with the help of its expertise. The attempt to help the cow stand and walk using the artificial leg was successful.
People present at the site were delighted to see the cow stand and move again after it had struggled even to take a few steps. The effort demonstrated how specialised technology could help reduce suffering and offer a new possibility for an animal that could not express its pain in words.
Prashant Agrawal Highlights the Importance of Compassion
Expressing happiness over the achievement, Sansthan president Prashant Agrawal said that people with disabilities could describe their pain in words, but understanding the suffering of a silent animal required a sensitive heart.
He said the cow could not communicate its difficulties, but understanding its pain was a responsibility. He added that the institution was pleased to have helped the animal stand and walk again through its technical expertise and spirit of service.
Narayan Seva Sansthan’s Work in Artificial Limbs
Narayan Seva Sansthan has been working to help people with disabilities become more self-reliant by providing modern artificial limbs and assistive devices.
The effort in Ghodaghati extends this approach to an injured animal. It highlights how technology can be used not only to improve convenience but also to ease suffering and improve quality of life.
