Indore, August 27: The Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA) held its annual awards ceremony on Wednesday at the Brilliant Convention Centre. The event recognized the outstanding performances of both male and female cricketers from the state, distributing a total prize money of approximately ₹2.94 crore. Former international cricketer Javagal Srinath and Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia were present as chief guests. The ceremony honored senior players, junior cricketers, and coaches alike.
During the event, MPCA President Maharaj Aryaman Scindia stated, “Our annual awards are always a significant day for us, as we honor our players, past players, and administration officials who have contributed to the sport. It is a momentous occasion for both them and us. For the teams that work hard throughout the year, train, and achieve victories, this platform allows us to recognize their efforts. Thus, this day holds great importance for us.”
Former cricketer Javagal Srinath also attended and remarked, “First of all, congratulations to the MPCA. They have done a commendable job; the last five years have seen a good phase. Every state experiences such a phase, and the MPCA has managed it well, reaching the knockout stage. They have won the Ranji Trophy. There is a foundation for many young players in under-19 cricket here. So, many good things are happening with the MPCA.”
Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia added, “We have Javagal Srinath among us. He is not only a pride of cricket but also of the nation. His career serves as an example for our players both on and off the field. His performance for the country is a source of inspiration for all of us. I take great pride in being part of the MPCA annual awards ceremony. The way our organization contributes to Indian cricket and how our stars are reaching new heights is commendable. Our under-19 team, boys’ team, and senior women’s cricket team have all performed exceptionally well.”
