MP Mannalal Rawat Accuses Rajkumar Rot of Divisive Politics in Dungarpur
Udaipur Kiran: During a recent Disha committee meeting in Dungarpur, MP Dr. Mannalal Rawat alleged that BJP MP Rajkumar Rot and MLA Aspur made indecent remarks, attempted to slap him, issued death threats, and engaged in petty political behaviour. Rawat accused the BJP leaders of showing no concern for Dungarpur and tribal development, instead indulging in trivial arguments over state government camps and development work.
Dr. Rawat said the BJP leaders also insulted Anganwadi workers by calling them corrupt. He stated that he openly opposed such behaviour in the meeting and urged that discussions remain focused on the agenda set by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government. In response, the BJP leaders reportedly threatened and abused him after leaving the meeting.
According to Dr. Rawat, the BJP leaders violated the guidelines set by the Union government for the Disha meeting. He said MP Rajkumar Rot immediately began making irrelevant political comments once the meeting started. Dr. Rawat highlighted that Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma’s camps help resolve small local issues in villages, but Rot questioned the funding of tents and food during these camps, which he called inappropriate for a public representative.
Dr. Rawat emphasized that the central government has outlined 101 points for the Disha meeting, aiming to discuss and decide on public welfare measures. However, Rajkumar Rot focused only on politics and divisive tactics, which Dr. Rawat said is unacceptable even for common citizens. He stressed that Dungarpur should be part of a developed India with growth in employment and skill development, rather than politics of separation.
The MP also condemned Rajkumar Rot’s derogatory remarks about Anganwadi workers, accusing them of corruption and selling ration items in Gujarat, which hurt the dignity of all Anganwadi sisters. After Dr. Rawat’s intervention, the meeting somewhat shifted focus towards the development of Dungarpur’s people.
At the end of the meeting, Dr. Rawat asked the district collector to take FIR action against those issuing threats or else he would escalate the matter to the Chief Minister.
