MP Dr. Mannalal Rawat’s Efforts Bear Fruit: ₹361 Crore Elevated Road Sanctioned for Kherwara, NHAI Invites Tender

Udaipur (Udaipur Kiran): The long-pending demand of Kherwara residents for an elevated road has finally been approved, thanks to the continuous efforts of MP Dr. Mannalal Rawat. The Central Government has sanctioned ₹361 crore for the construction of the elevated corridor, and the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has officially issued a tender for the project.

Dr. Rawat had personally met Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari to highlight the difficulties faced by locals in Kherwara, located along National Highway 48 (NH-48) between Udaipur and Ahmedabad. Following his request, the Ministry approved the project, bringing long-awaited relief to the region.

The MP said that the demand for the elevated road in Kherwara had been pending for several years but faced delays due to technical reasons. Now, the NHAI has issued a tender on October 30, 2025, for the construction of the ₹361.56 crore elevated corridor on NH-48.

It is noteworthy that the Kherwara Vyapar Mahasangh (Traders’ Association) had been persistently raising this demand. In September, a delegation led by Dr. Rawat, including Association President Amit Kalal and Patron Paras Jain, met Union Minister Gadkari in New Delhi to push for the project. Dr. Rawat expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari for their support and swift approval.

During a public programme in Kherwara on Friday, Dr. Rawat shared the news of the project’s approval, prompting a wave of appreciation from residents. Former MLA Nanalal Ahari, former Pradhan Amritlal Damor, senior BJP leader Paras Jain, BJP District Minister and Traders’ Association President Amit Kalal, Sarpanch Laxmi Ahari, and Deputy Sarpanch Vikrant Kothari were among those present.

Local representatives and traders thanked Dr. Mannalal Rawat for securing the project and expressed hope that the construction work for the elevated bridge will begin soon.
