Raipur, August 2 (Udaipur Kiran). Due to railway track maintenance, over 72 trains passing through Chhattisgarh have been canceled on various dates until August 19. Additionally, 5 trains will terminate midway, and 22 trains will be rerouted.
The railway management has requested passengers to check the updated status of their trains online before starting their journey. These changes will occur between August 4 and August 20, which will pose difficulties for passengers during festivals like Raksha Bandhan.
According to the rail administration, a 228-kilometer-long third rail line is being constructed under the Rajnandgaon-Nagpur Third Rail Line Project, which costs Rs 3540 crore. To connect the third railway line between Rajnandgaon-Kalamna rail section of Nagpur Railway Division to Kalamna Railway Station, electronic interlocking work is to be carried out. The pre-non interlocking work will take place from August 4 to 13, 2024, and the non-interlocking work from August 14 to 19, 2024. Consequently, more than 72 trains have been canceled.
