Modi Unveils Seva Teerth for Modern Governance

New Delhi, February 13: Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled the new administrative complex ‘Seva Teerth’ on Friday. This state-of-the-art building houses the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the National Security Council Secretariat (NSCS), and the Cabinet Secretariat under one roof.

During the unveiling, prominent figures were present, including Minister of State in the PMO Dr. Jitendra Singh, Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs Manohar Lal, and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval.

This event symbolizes a historic shift, as the PMO has been operating from South Block at Raisina Hill until now. The office has now been relocated to the new ‘Seva Teerth’ complex on Kartavya Path, located approximately one kilometer away from South Block.

In the evening, the Prime Minister will also inaugurate ‘Kartavya Bhavan Complex-1 and 2’, which will serve various key ministries, including Finance, Defence, Health and Family Welfare, and Education.

For decades, ministries in the Central Vista area operated from separate and older buildings, leading to coordination and operational challenges. The initiation of these new complexes is expected to resolve these long-standing issues and integrate all departments into a modern, digital framework.

According to officials, the new buildings feature digitally integrated offices, streamlined public contact areas, and centralized reception facilities. This will enhance coordination, efficiency, good governance, and communication with citizens. A better working environment for employees has also been ensured.

The complex has been designed according to 4-star GRIHA (Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment) standards, incorporating renewable energy systems, water conservation measures, waste management solutions, and high-quality construction techniques. This will reduce environmental impact and enhance operational efficiency.

In terms of security, smart access control systems, modern surveillance networks, and advanced emergency response arrangements have been established to provide a safe and accessible environment for officials and visitors.

According to a government statement, this inauguration marks a transformative step in India’s administrative system and is a significant milestone towards creating a modern, effective, and citizen-centric governance framework.
