UDAIPUR, January 25, 2026 (Udaipur Kiran): Under the Chief Minister’s Budget Announcement 2025–26, foundation stones for three anicuts were laid on Saturday by Udaipur Rural MLA Phool Singh Meena in Khubdi and Jawla gram panchayats. The three anicuts, to be constructed at an estimated cost of around ₹8 crore, were sanctioned following sustained efforts by the MLA.

Addressing the gathering during the foundation ceremony, Phool Singh Meena said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, the state government is undertaking unprecedented work in the field of water conservation. He said the construction of these anicuts will significantly improve the groundwater level in the region, help resolve long-standing drinking water problems, and provide irrigation facilities to farmers. He added that the project will give fresh momentum to the economic and social development of rural areas.
The MLA informed that the anicuts will be constructed by the Water Resources Department at Wada Fala and Hama Fala in Khubdi gram panchayat, and Upla Fala in Jawla gram panchayat.
Superintending Engineer Manoj Kumar Jain said that along with the construction of anicuts, ghats will also be developed keeping in mind the convenience of local villagers.
Former Pradhan Takht Singh Shaktawat, social worker Rameshchandra Damor, Mohanlal Meena, local sarpanches Sushila Meena and Shanta Meena, Rameshchandra Meena, officials and staff of the Water Resources Department, and a large number of villagers were present at the programme.
