Microsoft has announced the Xbox Game Showcase for June 9th, which will reportedly include the next Call of Duty and Gears of War

Microsoft has announced an Xbox Game Showcase featuring first-party titles and an exclusive Direct event for unnamed titles in June.

The show will go live on Xbox’s YouTube, Twitch and Facebook accounts starting June 9 at 10:00 a.m. local time (10:30 a.m. local time). The event will showcase a selection of upcoming games from Activision, Blizzard, Bethesda and Xbox Game Studios, as well as third-party titles from Xbox.

The Xbox Game Show will be accompanied by a live event that promises “an in-depth look at the next installment in this popular series.” Microsoft hasn’t revealed any details about the event, but a report from The Verge, citing sources familiar with the company’s plans, claims that the livestream will focus on the next Call of Duty game.

The best-selling first-person shooter series is now part of Microsoft’s first-person gaming portfolio after Microsoft acquired Call of Duty developer Activision-Blizzard last year.

Additionally, the report also included details on some titles that may be revealed or receive new updates during the Xbox Showcase. Microsoft will reportedly unveil a new Gears of War game at the event. The last Gears of War title, Gears 5, was released in 2019 and the long-awaited Gears of War 6 was announced.

The showcase includes details on the release dates of previously announced titles such as Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, Avowed and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, as well as the launch of the Starfield expansion Shattered Space.

According to the report, the expansion is scheduled to release in September, while the next Call of Duty is scheduled to release in October. Meanwhile, Avowed and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 are set to be announced in November, while Bethesda’s Indiana Jones is expected to launch during the holidays in December.

Microsoft hasn’t revealed any details yet, but this showcase aims to shed more light on upcoming first-person titles. The event could also reveal details about Xbox games in 2025. According to The Verge, the event will feature “more games” than last year’s showcase.
