Ghaziabad, August 7: A major disaster was averted in Ghaziabad on Friday thanks to the promptness and expertise of the fire and emergency services. A man trapped in a deep, muddy drain in Shastri Nagar was safely rescued by the fire department’s team. Timely information and swift action saved the man’s life.
According to reports, the Ghaziabad Commissionerate’s fire station received a call at 10:11 AM about a person stuck in the marshy drain at I Block, Shastri Nagar, who was unable to extricate himself.
Immediately upon receiving the alert, a First Quick Response Vehicle (FQRV) from the Kotwali fire station and a fire tender from the Kavinagar fire station were dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, the fire team carefully assessed the situation, noting the depth of the drain and the challenging conditions posed by the mud and debris.
Despite the difficulties, trained firefighters utilized necessary safety equipment and modern rescue techniques to carefully descend into the drain and reach the trapped individual. After considerable effort and vigilance, the team successfully pulled the man out of the marshy area.
Throughout the rescue operation, the team demonstrated patience and professional competence, ensuring the safe recovery of the individual without any major incidents. Following the rescue, the injured man was immediately taken to the District Combined Hospital in Sanjaynagar for first aid. The rescued individual has been identified as Gaurav, approximately 47 years old.
Medical professionals are currently assessing his health condition. Officials stated that timely information in emergencies and the readiness of trained rescue teams play a crucial role in preventing major accidents.
