Extensive Operation Leads to Seizure of Large-Scale Hookah Storage & Distribution Network
Udaipur: In a major crackdown on illegal hookah bar operations, the District Special Team (DST) and Sukher Police have conducted a large-scale raid, seizing 94 hookahs, 160 packets of tobacco-flavored material, and other hookah-related supplies from multiple locations in Udaipur.
The operation was carried out under the direct orders of Udaipur Superintendent of Police, Yogesh Goyal, following reports of illegal hookah bars operating across the city. The enforcement was supervised by Additional SP (City) Umesh Ojha and DSP (West) Kailash Chandra, with the DST team led by Inspector Shyam Singh Ratnu and Sukher Police Station Officer Ravindra Charan.

Raid at “The Grassroom Café” in Sukher Leads to Major Seizure
Following intelligence inputs, the police team raided “The Grassroom Café” in New Keshav Nagar, Sukher.
📌 Key Findings at the Café:
✔ 17 hookahs, tobacco-flavored materials, pipes, and coal packets found on-site
✔ Café operator identified as Dhawal Sharma (Resident of Banswara, currently running the café in Sukher, Udaipur)
✔ All illegal items confiscated, and questioning of the accused led to further revelations
During interrogation, Dhawal Sharma disclosed a larger network, revealing the involvement of another suspect, Kalpesh Joshi, who was storing and distributing hookah supplies to multiple cafes and restaurants in Udaipur.
Follow-Up Raid at Bhopalpura Residence Uncovers Large Hookah Supply Stockpile
Based on the leads provided by the arrested café operator, the police team raided a house in Gali No. 7, Bhopalpura, where Kalpesh Joshi was found.

✔ 76 hookahs and 60 hookah pipes
✔ 160 packets of tobacco-flavored material
✔ 32 packets of filters and 3 packets of coal
The accused, Kalpesh Joshi (35 years, originally from Banswara, currently residing in a rented house in Bhopalpura, Udaipur), admitted to storing and supplying illegal hookah products to various restaurants and cafes across the city.
