Prime Minister Narendra Modi today visited Rajgarh in Madhya Pradesh and dedicated the Mohanpura Dam Project to the nation.
The Mohanpura Dam project will facilitate irrigation of agricultural land in Rajgarh district, and provide drinking water to villages in the area.
The dam in Mohanpura has been constructed at a cost of 3800 crore rupees.
Work on it had begun in december 2014 and completed ahead of schedule.
The dam has 17 gates and will irrigate 1.35 lakh hectares of land.Rajgarh in Madhya Pradesh is a drought prone region where farmers are dependent on rain for irrigating their land single crop farming.
Addressing the gathering Prime Minister said that he is privileged to have got an opportunity to inaugurate three big projects worth nearly Rs 4000 crore on June 23, the day great leader of our country Shyama Prasad Mukherjee passed away.
PM said that the huge gathering shows that people who are spreading lies are unaware of ground realities.
PM Modi said that in Madhya Pradesh, 40 lakh women have been benefitted from Ujjwala Yojana
