Bhopal, May 1: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has ordered an investigation into the cruise accident that occurred at the Bargi Dam in Jabalpur. The government will also honor those who saved tourists during the rescue operations.
Speaking to reporters on Friday, Yadav stated that the incident at the Bargi Dam was caused by a cyclone, and detailed information will be available after the investigation report is submitted.
Yadav expressed deep sorrow over the incident and announced that members of the rescue team who saved people from the water will be honored on August 15. He mentioned that the accident was a result of the cyclone, and administrative officials were dispatched to the site along with Tourism Minister Dharmendra Singh Lodhi and Public Works Minister Rakesh Singh. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) have been deployed for relief and rescue operations.
According to the information received, 29 people have been rescued so far. The Chief Minister confirmed that rescue operations are still ongoing at the Bargi Dam. He emphasized the tragic loss of life in this incident and extended his heartfelt condolences to the grieving families. The state government has directed that families of the deceased receive financial assistance of ₹4 lakh each.
