Lakecity Record Number of Tourists in February, Upcoming Festivals to Attract More Tourists

Udaipur : The City of Lakes, Udaipur, has received two great pieces of news related to tourism, with records being broken and airport facilities being expanded.

Record-breaking Tourist Arrivals:

According to data released by the Tourism Department, Udaipur welcomed a record number of 1,63,863 tourists in February, the highest number in the past 15 years. Notably, 21,563 of these tourists were foreigners, the highest number since the COVID-19 pandemic. This indicates that Udaipur is once again becoming popular with international tourists.

Upcoming Festivals to Attract More Tourists:

The city is expecting a large number of tourists in March and April due to two major events. Holi, the festival of colors, will be celebrated in March, attracting many foreign tourists who are fascinated by Mewar’s unique Holi traditions. Additionally, the Gangaur festival in April showcases the rich traditions of Mewar and also attracts a large number of tourists.

Airport Receives 147 Acres of Land:

Udaipur’s long-standing demand of 15 years has been fulfilled. Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has given the final approval for the allocation of 147 acres of land to Maharana Pratap Dabok Airport in Udaipur free of cost.

Benefits of Land Allocation:

This land will be used for the construction of the much-awaited parallel taxi track and an apron for aircraft parking. Currently, the airport can accommodate 11 large and 22 small aircraft, but this number will increase after the development of this land. A total of 66 aircraft will be able to park here. It is worth noting that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had laid the foundation stone of the airport terminal, and its construction is expected to start soon.
