Kohli Dismissed for Duck After 46 Innings in IPL 2026

Lucknow, May 8: In the 50th match of IPL 2026, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) faced off against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium. RCB’s star batsman Virat Kohli was dismissed without scoring, returning to the pavilion after being clean bowled by LSG’s fast bowler Prince Yadav. This marks Kohli’s first duck in 46 innings in the IPL. His last duck was against Rajasthan Royals in 2023. Notably, this is the first time since 2017 that Kohli has been out for zero while chasing runs, with his last such dismissal occurring against Kolkata Knight Riders.

Earlier, Lucknow Super Giants scored 209 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in their 20 overs. Mitchell Marsh and Arshin Kulkarni provided a solid start, adding 95 runs for the first wicket. Arshin contributed 17 runs off 24 balls, while Nicholas Pooran scored a quick 38 runs off 23 balls. Marsh and Pooran formed a remarkable partnership of 70 runs for the second wicket off just 41 balls.

Marsh continued his explosive batting, completing his century in 49 balls and finishing with an impressive 111 runs off 56 balls, including 9 fours and 9 sixes. In the final overs, LSG captain Rishabh Pant scored an unbeaten 32 runs off just 10 balls, hitting 4 fours and 2 sixes at a strike rate of 320. Aiden Markram remained not out with 1 run. RCB’s bowlers struggled throughout the match, with Josh Hazlewood taking 1 wicket for 49 runs in 4 overs, while Rasikh Salam also claimed 1 wicket for 53 runs in his 4-over spell.
