In Udaipur, a knife attack during lunchtime at a government school on Friday has led to tension. The incident involved two students and prompted Hindu organizations to shut down markets in several areas of the city.
A student attacked another with a knife at a city government school, causing injuries. The incident occurred in the Surajpol police station area at around 10:30 AM. After the attack, the minor student fled the scene.
The injured student was rushed to Maharana Bhupal (MB) Hospital by teachers, where he is currently being treated in the ICU. Angered by the incident, people have forced the closure of shops in Chetak Circle, Hathipole, Ashwini Market, Bapu Bazaar, and Ghantaghar areas. Police have been deployed as a precaution.
District Education Officer Lokesh Bharti stated that both minors are about 15 years old and attend the same class at the Government Senior Secondary School, Bhatiyani Chohatta.
It is not clear what initially caused the dispute between the two, but they fought outside the school during lunchtime. One student inflicted two to three knife wounds on the other’s thigh. When the injured student started screaming, teachers rushed outside.
The child’s parents were informed and rushed to MB Hospital, along with a large number of city residents. Police forces have been stationed at the hospital to maintain order.
