In the episode of veteran actor Anupam Kher’s show, ‘The Anupam Kher Show – Anything Can Happen,’ Kangana reminisced about the challenging phase of her career. She stated, “After films like ‘Gangster’ and ‘Woh Lamhe,’ my career wasn’t progressing as I had hoped. I felt like my career was slowly declining, and I needed a significant opportunity to prove myself.”
Kangana mentioned that the film ‘Fashion’ was a major opportunity for her, but she was apprehensive that if her performance did not meet expectations, her future could become even more challenging. “I left no stone unturned in preparing for my character and worked diligently to embody this role,” she added.
She revealed, “I practiced walking in high heels at home to better understand a model’s demeanor. Additionally, I rehearsed acting like I was smoking, gathered information related to addiction, and even met individuals who had struggled with cocaine addiction.”
Kangana expressed, “I constantly thought that this could be my last big chance in my career. This mindset motivated me to work hard. I played this character with complete dedication and honesty, and the results were remarkable.”
After the film’s release, Kangana’s performance became a hot topic of discussion. Both audiences and film critics praised her work, and she received the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress for this role.
Alongside her, actress Priyanka Chopra played the lead role and also received significant acclaim, winning the Best Actress award.
