Ranchi, May 1: Jharkhand Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar has adopted a firm stance regarding the serious lapses in the functioning of the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and the recent examinations. A letter expressing strong discontent was sent to the commission’s chairman, directing an investigation into the errors made during the exams and holding those responsible accountable for their actions.
The letter issued under the Governor’s directives highlighted numerous mistakes found in the question papers of the Assistant Conservator of Forests (ACF) main examination and the preliminary civil service examination. Furthermore, several answers in the preliminary answer key released by the commission were also found to be incorrect. It was stated that such errors not only create confusion among candidates but also severely undermine the fairness and credibility of the entire selection process.
The Governor deemed this situation extremely concerning for the commission’s reputation. He instructed the commission to conduct a thorough investigation into all these matters and ensure accountability for those responsible. Strict action against the guilty individuals and officials was mandated in accordance with the rules.
The Raj Bhavan emphasized that such mistakes will not be tolerated in the future and stressed the need for necessary corrective and precautionary measures in the entire examination process. It is noteworthy that significant errors were revealed in the question papers of the JPSC civil service examination and the Assistant Conservator of Forests examination held in April. Additionally, the recent Jharkhand Eligibility Test also showcased severe mismanagement, with many centers failing to receive question papers on time and others having papers printed so poorly that candidates found them difficult to read.
